Every Rose
The Age

Axl may well have famously declared that every rose has its thorn but he obviously wasn't privy to these precious petals. There's nothing thorny about Hannah Rose's porcelain roses. Whether you choose to use these precious vessels as cups to ferry mulled wine or warm sake to your lips, or treat them as a safehouse for your jewels and trinkets, it would seem whichever way you go you're bound to come up roses. And what's more, they come in sets of three. Each delicate rose is lovingly handmade. Ms Rose's roses are enough to transport you to a time before Gunners and flannel-shirted rock, to a time when ladies took tea, grew gardens and enjoyed the gentler things in life. Is it too much of a stretch to Use Your Illusion and imagine yourself a picture of refinement, owner of three exquisite and altogether too gorgeous for words porcelain roses? I think not. Paradise City, more like it!
Set of three porcelain roses by Hannah Rose, ranging from $55-$75, from Monk House Design, 102 Lygon Street, Brunswick East, phone 9381 1191. -- MICHIFor your free daily fashion and weather forecast subscribe to Michi Girl at www.michigirl.com.au
